Jay DittamoJay Dittamo was a Drummer, Percussionist, Educator, Composer and Producer Jay was raised in a musical family that goes back to his roots in Italy when his grandfather, Professor Vincenzo "James" Dittamo and his two brothers, Gaetano and Oliveri came to America to spread their gift of music. Vincenzo and his wife Josphine had 9 children, 3 Girls and 6 Boys. Vincenzo had over twenty symphonic bands that he lead till his death in 1966. Alfred, the second of the youngest boys of Vincenzo, played the trumpet (like his dad) in one of his cocerts in a small town in New Jersey. Alfred met Verna Salafia and married sometime shortly after. Alfred and Verna Dittamo had four children, Alfred Jr, Frances, Ricky, and Jay. Music was playing in the house all of the time. In 1963, Alfred's oldest brother Fredrico, (Fred) (Drummer and Percussionist) began giving Jay drum lessons and Uncle Fred would forever instill a positive effect. He once said: "I consider myself a lifer in the world of music"... In music you effect it as it effects you... And what am I going to do at this stage of the game, become a Brain Surgeon???... I would be my first patient"
