Jattir

Jattir was a town in the ancient Israel. Jattir was located in the mountainous land of Judah. (Josh. 15:48; 21:14) It was made a levitical town for priests to live. The young David was met with friendliness here when he was on flight from king Saul. (1. Samuel chapter 30) Jattir is identified with Khirbet Attir (Horvat Yattir) southwest of Hebron.
