Jason Spezza

Jason Spezza, #19, young star of the Ottawa Senators. Drafted 2nd Overall in 2001 after Ilya Kovalchuk. A promising future star, he helped the team win critical games in the 2003 Playoffs. Spezza spent much of the season playing for the Binghamton Senators, Ottawa's Minor League Affiliate in Binghamton, New York. He did not play enough games in Ottawa to lose his chance at winning the Calder Trophy, however. This season Spezza is playing full time in Ottawa. He is remarkably good offensively, but still lacks experience, especially in defensive play.
