Jason Macy

Jason Macy (born in Auckland, New Zealand) is an automobile lover. His skills as a driver were first put to test at age 4, when he was signed up for the Junior Kiwi Go-Kart School of Driving in Warkworth. He quickly moved to the head of the class and won 1st place at the year-end race. In 1981, he moved to Australia, where he continued to race go-karts. At the age of 10, he attended his first Formula One race at the Adelaide Circuit. He submitted a photograph he took at the race to a contest conducted by F1 Racing Magazine. He was amongst 4 other contestants to have their photographs published later that year. The magazine received many positive letters regarding his photograph. They kept in touch with the young photographer and invited him to future races, where he captured more photographs for them. Along with photography, Macy also wrote articles for the magazine. In 1993, he was given the opportunity to test a McLaren/Ford F1 car and write about this rare experience. He has also tested and written reviews for EVO, Car and Driver, and Autoweek. In 2003, he made several guest appearances in Fifth Gear, lending his automotive expertise. Jason Macy currently travels the world photographing Formula One races for F1 Racing Magazine. In the off season, he does freelance work, testing cars and writing articles for several magazines. Macy, Jason
