Jane Fancher

Jane S. Fancher (1952- ) currently lives in Spokane, Washington with fellow science fiction writer C.J. Cherryh. Ms. Fancher has published six science fiction and fantasy novels as well as two short stories. She was also the creator of the graphic novel adaptation of the Gate of Ivrel by C.J. Cherryh. The "Gate of Ivrel" series includes "Gate of Ivrel: No. 1", "Gate of Ivrel: Claiming Rites" (1987), and "Gate of Ivrel: Fever Dreams" (1988). All three graphic novels were done in collaboration with C.J. Cherryh. This led to a close friendship and professional collaboration, as well as Jane becoming an author herself. Ms. Fancher's books include the Groundties series, as well as the "Dance of the Rings" trilogy ("Ring of Lightning" (1995); "Ring of Intrigue"; "Ring of Destiny"). Ms. Fancher, along with Ms. Cherryh are both deeply interested in ice-skating, as is evidenced in the ongoing blog of Ms. Cherryh.
