Jan Myrdal

Jan Myrdal (born July 19 1927) Swedish author, political writer and wine columnist. Jan Myrdal got his breakthrough in 1963 with the book Report from a Chinese Village, a non-critical view of Mao-era China. He has continued his defense of non-democratic socialist countries up to today. Myrdal's best-known works are his autobiographical works about his childhood and his conflicts with his authoritarian parents, the Swedish social democratic folk heroes Alva Myrdal and Gunnar Myrdal.
