Jamie Clapham

Jamie Clapham (born December 7, 1975 in Lincoln, England) is an English football player who currently plays for Birmingham City F.C. as a defender. His career effectively started at Tottenham Hotspur F.C., although he only made one appearance for the club, a defeat against Coventry City F.C. on May 11, 1997. After loan spells at Leyton Orient F.C. (between January 29 and February 22, 1997) and Bristol Rovers F.C. (between March 27 and April 26 of the same year), he got loaned out at Ipswich Town F.C. for two months between January 9 and March 12 of 1998, the team for whom he signed the day after the loan spell was complete, for a fee of 300,000 pounds. He scored all his league goals to date during his tenure at Ipswich, eight goals scored in a total of 175 full (and 20 substitute) appearances. One of his specific attributes as a player honed during this time was the art of the dead ball situation. In 1999, he was voted Ipswich Town's "Player of the Year". Four years later, despite continuation of this form, and given Ipswich's desperate need to sell players to raise monetary funds for a sliding team, Clapham signed for Birmingham City F.C. for 1.3 million pounds. In February 2004, however, he suffered shingles, which kept him out for the rest of the season. Clapham, Jamie Clapham, Jamie
