James Preston Maxwell

James Preston Maxwell (died circa 1960 or 1961), son of James Laidlaw Maxwell, was a Presbyterian medical missionary to China. He worked at Yungchun Hospital, Fujian, from 1899 to 1919, and Changpoo, Amoy. He was Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, at the Peking Union Medical College, from circa 1920 to circa 1940. He married (Edith) Lilly Isaacson on 16 December 1899. She died 14 October 1954. They had one child, Marjorie (Steen, ne Marjorie Gordon Maxwell, born 1908).
