and son of billionaire media tycoon
Rupert Murdoch
. He is also an executive vice-president of
News Corporation
and serves on the
board of directors
of
News Digital Systems
. He is married to Kathryn, with whom he has one child. James Murdoch attended
Horace Mann High School
in
New York City
and graduated in
1991
. He then studied at
Harvard University
, leaving in
1995
. In
1996
he joined News Corporation and, with
Brian Brater
and
Jarret Meyer
, set up
Rawkus Records
, an
independent
hip hop
record label
. In
May
2000
he was appointed
chairman
and chief executive of
Star Television
. On
13 February
2003
