James Mansergh

James Mansergh (1824 - 1905) was a British civil engineer. Mansergh was born in Lancaster. He started his career in railway work and then designed many sewage schemes and fresh water schemes. His most famous projects were: He became the President of the Institution of Civil Engineers. He was the Chairman of the Engineering Standards Committee which became the British Standards Institution.
