james french wilson

James French Wilson was born in Indiana in 1892. He attended the University of Wyoming, before continuing his studies at the University of Missouri. He served as a lieutenant in the US Army during the First World War before entering the world of academia as a professor of animal husbandry. He was widely regarded as an expert on sheep and wool, working with various bodies and institutions in the area of sheep breeding. Wilson was also active in civic affairs, serving as the first chairman of the Planning Commission for the city of Davis, California.
