Jake Burns

Jake Burns (b. 22 February 1958 in Belfast) is singer, guitarist and musician, and is best known as a member of Stiff Little Fingers. He wrote songs for his band such as Alternative Ulster, Suspect Device, Straw Dogs and At The Edge. Stiff Little Fingers debut album Inflammable Material was released on 22nd February 1979, coincidentally Jake Burns' 21st birthday. The album was met with much critical acclaim and put SLF on the punk rock map with fast politically motivated lyrics regarding the state of the Northern Irish government at the time. Stiff Little Fingers still perform today although Jake Burns is the only founding member still present in the line up. Former Jam member Bruce Foxton plays bass, Ian McCallum is on guitar and Steve Grantley, formerly of Jake Burns and the Big Wheel, the group Jake formed in the five years that SLF were not performing, on drums.
