Jacobite Reliques

Hogg's Jacobite Reliques is a collection of Jacobite protest songs compiled by James Hogg on commission from the Highland Society of London in 1817. Scholars speculate as to how many of the songs were authored or at least substantially altered by Hogg himself. Several of the songs included gained new popularity in the 20th century through performances by Steeleye Span - most notably Cam Ye O'er Frae France and Rogues in a Nation. Reliques was first published in 1819. An edited version was published as The Jacobite Relics of Scotland in 2002 (volume I ISBN 0-7486-1592-X; volume II ISBN 0-7486-1591-1).
