Jack Corley

Jack Corley is a leader in the Unification Church. He helped organize a series of educational workshops in the Baltic republics of the former Soviet Union in the early 1990s to introduce Russians to the Divine Principle. A team of writers under his leadership developed a moral curriculum used by the Russian Federation to reform their prison system and which provided some guidance for high schools and colleges. Beginning in the mid to late 1990s, Corley had diplomatic missions to China, laying the ground work for rapprochement between the Communist government and senior Unification Movement leaders. China has been host to some university-level conferences exploring non-theological aspects of Rev. Moon's teachings, particulary family and social morality. (China also provided a conduit and diplomatic support for Rev. Moon's visit to Pyongyang where he met North Korean Premier Kim Il-Sung.) In 2004, Corley had a 2-hour meeting with Yasser Arafat, leader of the Palestine Authority. He exhorted Arafat to "love his enemy"; reconciliation on the basis of a common religious heritage and forgiveness of past wrongs are centerpieces of the Unification Movement's initiatives to resolve the Arab-Israeli conflict. Corley, Jack
