J1939

SAE J1939 is the Vehicle Network Communication standard used for communication and diagnostics by heavy duty truck industry, predominantly in the United States. J1939 is an application layer defined on top of CAN 2.0b specification. The low level data communication occurs over Entended CAN network (29-bit header). J1939 defined the application and network layer that relates to packet assembly and disassembly and interpretation of the data.
