J. D. Hayworth

John D. "J.D." Hayworth Jr. (born July 12 1958), American politician, has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives since 1995, representing the 5th District of Arizona (map). He was born in High Point, North Carolina, was educated at North Carolina State University, and was a television and radio journalist before entering the House. Hayworth had considered a candidacy for governor of Arizona in the 2006 elections, but in March 2005, abruptly announced that he preferred to stay in Congress.
