As a joint campus of Indiana University and Purdue University, IUPUI offers undergraduate, graduate and professional degrees from both universities. It is also the campus that hosts the Indiana University Medical Center. In this capacity it hosts research on infectious disease, cancer, and degenerative disorders. It also hosts the Indiana University Law School and Indiana University School of Dentistry. IUPUI's men's soccer and basketball teams compete at the Division I level in the Mid-Continental Conference. IUPUI is located just west of downtown near the Indianapolis Zoo, Downtown Canal Walk, and White River State Park. The campus was built in a former African-American neighborhood. The zip code for the entire campus (excluding the old Herron buildings off 16th St. and Pennsylvania Ave.) is 46203.
