Israel Israelsson Nslund Iii

Israel Israelsson Nslund III (January 28, 1796 - 1858) was the Vicar at Torsker, Sweden from 1841 to 1858 when he died of smallpox. His children went on to become reverends themselves.

Birth

Israel was born in 1796, Ns or Hgsj, Sweden . He was the son of Israel Nslund, a juryman and Elsa Ersdotter.

Education

He was registered in the school system in Hrnsand in 1806 and became a student at Uppsala University in 1818.

Religious Career

He was ordained a minister on June 6, 1819 and was assigned as curate in Hede. He became a "vacancy preacher" in Hede in 1822 and again a curate in 1826. He was then appointed preacher on a temporary basis in Sveg in May through August of 1828. In September of 1828 he was appointed reverend in Hede, and then he was then appointed assistant vicar in Hede on March 03, 1830. He was next appointed vicar in Frsn on November 25, 1835, entered May 01, 1836, got the title vice vicar, honor and dignity on August 17, 1836. He was empowered vicar in Torsker and Ytterlnns on February 13, 1839, entered May 01, 1841. Israel was became head of the pastoral custody in Torskers gll April 10, 1844 through October 31, 1846.

Marriage and Children

Israel married Johanna Gustafva Ruuth (1800-1860) in stbacken at Hede parish on March 23, 1821. Johanna was the daughter John Christopher Ruuth, the reverend of Hede; and Catherine Maria Martinell. Johanna died in Ytterlnns vicarage after a difficult illness on February 15, 1860. Together Israel and Johanna had the following children: Johan Israel Nslund (1822-1906) who married Emma Maria Falk (1817-1860) and was the reverend of Ragunda; Carl Gustaf Nslund (1825-1899) who married Kristina Carolina Sjstrm (1839-?) and was the reverend of Arns; Olof Emanuel Nslund (1829-1906) who married Annette Brandell (1820-?) and was a land surveyor in Hrnsand; Elsa Maria Elisabeth Nslund (1829-1907) who was a twin of Olof who married Anton Julius Winblad I (1828-1901); and Johanna Nslund (1838-?).

Death

He was for his audience a good teacher that understood and had the ability to put all to its best, and for his family a loving father. During his longterm service in Hede his health, through repeated colds, became bad. His explanation, that he only held himself to the cross of Christ, shows what kind of temperment he had. He died May 15, 1858 of smallpox.
