Irish Minister For The Environment, Heritage And Local Government

The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government is the senior minister at the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government (An Roinn Comhshaoil, Oidhreacht agus Rialtais itiil) in the Irish Government. The current Minister is Dick Roche, TD; he is assisted by Batt O'Keefe, TD, Minister of State with special responsibility in the area of Environmental Protection.

Overview

The Minister is responsible for, amongst other matters:

the environment;
the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland;
heritage;
local authorities and related services;
the supervision of elections including the general election and presidential elections, and electronic voting arrangements.
