Ion Gigurtu

Ion Gigurtu (1886 - 1959) was a Romanian politician that served as a Prime Minister of Romania in 1940 between 4 July and 4 September. Ion Gigurtu had economical and political intersts in Nazi Germany and his government was the first one to include members of the Iron Guard (Horia Sima) and to propose anti-Jewish legislature. After the Soviet-imposed Communist government of Romania, Ion Giugurtu was tried for repression of the Romanian Communist Party and sentenced to 15 years of prison.
