Invensys

Invensys plc is a British engineering company, headquartered in London, England. It was formed by the merger of Siebe and BTR in 1999. The company is multinational with operations in over 30 countries. Invensys is quoted on the London Stock Exchange as part of the FTSE 250 Index. As of March 2005, its market capitalisation is approximately 1.1 billion. Invensys is currently undergoing a restructuring programme after the poor performance of its shares since creation in 1999. At the time of creation, Invensys was worth around 16 billion. Large debts and falling sales had led to the danger of the company going bankrupt. However, the disposal of non-core assets and a debt restructure has saved the company from collapse.
