Independent Radio

Independent Radio, in the United States, is much like public television. It is not run by for-profit businesses, but either by private individuals or non-profit corporations. It is supposed to present an unbiased look at world news and allow people to voice their opinions, (those who may not have the funding to get them on traditional broadcast networks). In the United Kingdom, the term Independent Radio is often used to refer to (usually commercial) radio stations which are not operated by the BBC.
