Ind Concourse Line

The Concourse Line is a subway branch line of the New York City Subway system, extending from 205th Street in the Norwood section of the Bronx to join with the Eighth Avenue Line at 145th Street in the Harlem neighborhood of Manhattan. The line runs from 205th Street in a generally south and south-westerly direction, running beneath the Grand Concourse roadway for much of its route, from which it derives its name. The Concourse Line opened on July 1, 1933, less than 10 months after the IND's first line, the Eighth Avenue Line opened for service. Initial service was provided by the C, at that time an express train, between 205th Street, then via the Eighth Avenue Line, Cranberry Street Tunnel and the IND Brooklyn Line (now Culver Line) to Bergen Street station in Brooklyn.
