Immum Coeli

The Immum Coeli, or IC, is the point in space where the Ecliptic crosses the Meridian in the north, exactly opposite the Midheaven in degrees and marking the 4th house cusp in most house systems (this is reversed in the southern hemisphere). The IC refers to the least conscious part of ourselves. It denotes our foundations, our beginnings in life, our roots, and what we may have experienced through parental inheritance. It relates to our security needs and our relationship with home and family life. It also relates to the circumstances that we will encounter at the end of our life. The IC quite often refers to a parent, usually the father, but sometimes the mother.
