Immiserizing Growth

Some analysts suggested that the growth in the poorer nations would actually be self-defeating. The export-biased growth in the poorer nations would worsen their terms of trade so much that they would be worse off than if they had not grown at all. This situation is called, by economists, an Immiserizing growth
