Illinois State Route 38

right Illinois State Route 38 is a state road that runs from U.S. Highway 52 in downtown Dixon to U.S. Highway 12, U.S. Highway 20 and U.S. Highway 45 (Mannheim Road) in Hinsdale. This is a distance of about 90 miles (145 km). The route beneath modern-day Illinois 38 was originally marked as an alternate to U.S. 30, as U.S. 30A. As these highways fell out of favor and were decomissioned, 30A became 38 because they sounded similar. In the Chicago area, Illinois 38 is called Roosevelt Road.
