Ian Ure

John Francombe (Ian) Ure (December 7 1939) was a Scots international and Arsenal F.C. football player. After a two-year spell at Dundee he transferred south of the border in 1969 to play for Arsenal, eventually transferring to play for Manchester United F.C.. Many people considered his talents as a defender to be somewhat deficient. He acquired a further degree of fame as a celebrity guest on the BBC soccer quiz game Quiz Ball.
