Ian Gibson (Politician)

Ian Gibson (born 26 September 1938) is a politician in the United Kingdom. He is Labour member of Parliament for Norwich North, and was first elected in 1997. He had previously been dean of biology at the University of East Anglia where he was the head of a research team investigating cancer. Dr Gibson is chairman of the Commons Select Committee on Science and Technology and was made an honorary professor at UEA and awarded a 'Champion' award by Macmillan Cancer Relief for his work in support of people with cancer.
