since it was first placed on the fixed list for the
1980 Atlantic hurricane season
.
1998's Hurricane Nicole
- a late season storm which was only briefly a hurricane west of the Azores and never approached land.
2004's Sub-tropical storm Nicole
- formed from a low-pressure area near
Bermuda
and headed towards
Nova Scotia
. Persisted less than 2 days.
