Huntington Herald-dispatch

The Huntington Herald-Dispatch is the only daily newspaper published in Huntington, West Virginia. It is distributed not only in Huntington but in nearby areas of Ohio and Kentucky. It it published in the mornings, seven days per week. The companion afternoon Huntington Advertizer shut down in 1978. It is owned by the media chain Gannett Corporation. In news content the paper generally takes a liberal line. It often borrows content from the Cincinnati Enquirer and USA Today which are also owned by Gannett. In sports the paper covers Marshall University very closely, often to the exclusion of other sports topics. It also covers the Cincinnati Reds on a home team basis.
