Huguang
was a province of
China
during the
Ming Dynasty
. It was partitioned in the
Qing Dynasty
to become the provinces of
Hubei
and
Hunan
. After its partition, the Qing Dynasty continued to have a
viceroy
of Huguang oversee the two provinces of Hubei and Hunan.
Li Hongzhang
was viceroy of Hukwang from
1867
to
1870
.
