How High The Moon

"How High the Moon" is a song, now a jazz standard, by Nancy Hamilton (lyrics), Morgan Lewis (music). How High The Moon was the working title of the BBC WW2 drama mini-series Seaforth, starring Linus Roach and Lia Williams.

Lyrics

The song's lyrics follow:
"Somewhere there's music, how faint the tune
Somewhere there's heaven, how high the moon
There is no moon above and love is far away too
'Til it comes true
That you love me and I love you
"Somewhere there's music, how near how far
Somewhere there's heaven, that's where you are
The darkest night would shine if you would come to me soon
Until you will, I'll still my heart, how high the moon
"Somewhere there's music, how faint the tune
Somewhere there's heaven, how high the moon
The darkest night would shine if you would come to me soon
Until you will, I'll still my heart, how high the moon"
Perhaps the most memorable version was sung in various recordings by Ella Fitzgerald.
