Hosokawa Katsumoto

Hosokawa Katsumoto (細川勝元 1430-1473) Japanese Lord (Daimyo) during the Muromachi Period. One of the Kanrei, a butler of the Ashikaga Shogunate. He fought with Yamana Souzen, another Daimyo, from 1467 to 1473 during the Onin War. The famous temple, Ryouanji (Rock Garden), was built by Katsumoto.
