Geography Holy Cross is located at 62°11'53" North, 159°46'24" West (62.198048, -159.773418). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 97.0 km² (37.4 mi²). 81.0 km² (31.3 mi²) of it is land and 16.0 km² (6.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 16.51% water. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 227 people, 64 households, and 49 families residing in the city. The population density is 2.8/km² (7.3/mi²). There are 81 housing units at an average density of 1.0/km² (2.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 3.52% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 96.48% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 64 households out of which 43.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.9% are married couples living together, 15.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.4% are non-families. 17.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.55 and the average family size is 4.00.
