Holly Johnson

Holly Johnson (born William Johnson on February 9, 1960 in Liverpool) is best known as the lead singer of British pop group Frankie Goes to Hollywood. The group's first single, Relax reached no. 1 on the UK charts in 1984 despite (or perhaps because of) controversy about the lyrics. Holly left the group in 1987 as he was unhappy with the group's musical direction. In 1989 he released his solo album Blast which went to no. 1 in the UK. In 1993 he announced he was HIV positive.
