Holding CurrentThe holding current in a silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) is the minimum current which must pass through the device in order for it to remain in the 'ON' state. If the current falls below this point even briefly, the device may turn off. Different devices have different delays between the time the current falls below this level and the time the device turns 'OFF'.
