Hofheim, Hesse

Hofheim (often Hofheim am Taunus to distinguish it with another Hofheim in Bavaria) is a small German town, the capital of the district Main-Taunus in the west of Hesse. Population 40863 (2002), geographical position . The city was first mentioned in 1262 as Hoveheim. The city is located at the south side of the Taunus mountains, 17 km west of Frankfurt and 17 km east of Wiesbaden and Mainz. Frankfurt is easily accessible with public transportation (Line S2, Stations in "Hofheim" and "Lorsbach") and via the A66 motorway.
