Hoenn

Hoenn (pronounced Hoe-in and spelled Hōen in Japan) is a last name and is also a region in the Pokmon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald games. The region from the Pokmon games consists of 16 cities and towns.
Important landscape features include the large river that flows through Route 119 (leading up to the western entrance to Fortree City), Petalburg Forest (between Petalburg City and Rustboro City), and Mount Chimney (north of Lavaridge Town). If you look really closely in the southeast, the Sky Pillar is visible. Hoenn is roughly based on Kyushu (flipped by 90 degrees) and lies in the south of the Pokmon world. It is heavily implied that the Hoenn region was formed by the legendary Magma Pokemon, Groudon raising land and legendary Ocean Pokemon, Kyogre expanding the sea. The Hoenn region also contains its own Pokemon League Elite 4, unlike Johto and Kanto which share their Elite 4. Sydney, Glacia, Drake and Phoebe are the members of Elite 4 in Hoenn. In Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, Steven is the Pokmon Champion, while in Pokmon Emerald, Wallace is the Pokemon Champion.
