Hms Splendid

Four ships of the Royal Navy have been named HMS ''Splendid''.
  • The first Splendid was listed in 1597, with an unknown fate.
  • The second Splendid was an S class destroyer, launched in 1918, and sold in 1931.
  • The third Splendid was a submarine of the S class, launched in 1942 and scuttled in 1943 after damage from a German destroyer.
  • The fourth Splendid was a Swiftsure-class nuclear powered hunter killer submarine.
