Hms Griffin (H31)

HMS Griffin (H31) was a G-class destroyer of the Royal Navy laid down by Vickers Armstrong Naval Construction Works at Barrow-in-Furness on 20 September 1934, launched on 15 August 1935 and commissioned on 6 June 1936. Griffin participated in the Battle of Cape Matapan in March 1941 and the evacuation of Greece in April 1941. Griffin was transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy on 20 March 1943 and renamed HMCS Ottawa. See HMS Griffin for other ships of this name. Griffin
