Hmas Tamworth

HMAS Tamworth (J-191/B-250/A-124), named for the city of Tamworth in New South Wales, was a Bathurst class corvette built by Walkers Limited at Maryborough in Queensland, launched on 4 March 1942 by Mrs. A. M. Horsburgh, wife of the director of Walkers, and commissioned on 8 August 1942. HMAS Tamworth paid off on 30 April 1946, was transferred to the Royal Netherlands Navy and renamed Tidore.
