Hmas Pioneer

HMAS ''Pioneer was a Pelorus class light cruiser laid down for the Royal Navy by HM Dockyard at Chatham, Kent in December 1897, launched 28 June 1899 and completed in 1900. She was transferred to the Royal Australian Navy 28 December 1912 and commissioned in April 1914. HMAS Pioneer'' paid off 7 November 1916 and served as an accommodation vessel at Garden Island in Sydney, was sold in 1924 and scuttled off Sydney Heads 18 February 1931. Pioneer
