Hlne ScherrerThe Honourable Hlne Scherrer The Honourable Hlne Scherrer The Honourable Hlne Chalifour-Scherrer (Born July 6, 1950, in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada) is a Canadian politician and, as of October 1, 2004, principal secretary in the Prime Minister's Office and thus a senior aide to Paul Martin. From 2000 to 2004 she was the Member of Parliament representing the Liberals in the House of Commons for the riding of Louis-Hbert, Quebec. She has a bachelor's degree in social work and two children. In December 2003 she was made minister of Canadian heritage by the new prime minister, Paul Martin. In the 2004 Canadian election she was defeated by Roger Clavet of the Bloc Qubcois and consequently replaced as heritage minister by Liza Frulla a month later.
