History Of Malm

Malm was attacked and plundered by Victual Brothers in 1394. Malmhus Castle was completed in the middle of the 15th century, intended as a city defense, it was also served as a prison until 1914. On August 23, 1900, Lars Nilsson became the last person to be executed on the castle courtyard, where he was beheaded by executioner Anders Gustaf Dalman. The first cinema show ever in Sweden took place in Malm 1896, the 28th of June. In 1914 the Baltic Exhibition was held in Malm. It consisted of exhibitions about industry, art and crafts from Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Russia.
