Hip Hop Hoodos

The Hip Hop Hoodos (from Spanish judos = Jews) are a multilingual rock en espaol/alternative rock and hip hop band. They are composed of Federico Fong (former member of La Barranca, Jaguares and Caifanes), Josu Noriega (born Josh Norek), El Gato Escocs (Adam Salzman de Weinstein) and Abraham Vlez. Their debut album contains three songs based on different Latin styles as well as rock en espaol ("Ocho Kandelikas" being co-written by Juan Manuel Caipo from Orixa) and rap music; and two more rap-oriented tracks, one of them ("Dicks & Noses") being a version of the Delinquent Habits' "The Kind", the other featuring Abraham Velez on acoustic guitar. Even though the Hoodos' approach is mostly humourous, unlike the 2 Live Jews their aim is clearly also to provide innovative music.
