High Impact Halo HIH High Impact Halo (or HIH for short) is the premier online website for tricks, stunts, glitches, easter eggs and exploration in the popular Xbox videogames, Halo and Halo 2. The site has been active since the 4th March 2004 and has since evolved into one of the largest Halo fan sites on the web. The site was created by Jeremy Hunt, also known as Ducain, and is maintained with help from a loyal number of administrators and moderators. The site is found at High Impact Halo. Beginnings HIH began as just a place to host the videos that Ducain showed off to the general Halo community that mostly inhabited HBO (halo.bungie.org), the most popular site for Halo information. Ducain led the brigade of Halo tricksters that stormed the Halo world when people had thought that Halo tricking had gone dry. He, along with other late tricksters, such as Juggertrout, Ms Man, Foxygrandpa and Nickslick among others, brought in a new generation of technical tricking and instilled life back into Halo over two and half years after it had come out. By the time Ducain had started his site, he was already a well known and admired trickster who was most famous for his revolutionary new warthog jumping techniques that allowed people to reach never before thought possible areas. Ducain eventually placed a basic forum in the site, doubting anyone would join. He made the site a solely Halo trick site and imposed a strict forum posting rule that has managed to keep the site friendly and welcoming. The Surge HIHs forum began as an intimate group of devout users who were willing to push the limits of Halo, despite the fact that many had bored of the game already. It breathed life into the cold, hard waiting period for Halo 2 and was often the place where many ground breaking new discoveries occurred. However the site grew rapidly with the imminent arrival of Halo 2, and by its release, member numbers had increased to unimaginable highs, soon thousands of new forum users had joined, meaning that HIH had lost its intimacy and privacy. Some old users complained that site was being infested by newbies. But it was really just a case of be careful what you wish for as many of the golden oldie users had hoped that this site would grow and expand. Nevertheless, the forum maintained its efficiency and the forum was kept under control thanks to the tireless work of the administrators and moderators of the site. Contests There have only been two official contests hosted on HIH. The first was the HIH exclusive contest, Hunter in Glass, where the object was to get a Hunter either in or behind glass in the game. The eventual winner was Hypnotoad, who won the chance to be able to change his title to anything he wished. The second contest was a much larger fare. It was called The Three Towers and the goal was to put as much stuff (vehicles, marines, MCs) as possible on top of the three blue towers on the second part of Halo, the level. The winners were KORHAL and Walka who entered together and received the grand prize; a Warthog toy signed by various Bungie members. Current Status HIH continues to be the No1 Halo and Halo 2 tricking site on the web, with no signs of slowing down.
