Hewanorra International Airport

Hewanorra International Airport, near Vieux-Fort, Saint Lucia, in the Caribbean, is the largest of that country's two airports. Its IATA Airport Code is UVF The airport is a Fire Category 8 airport that handles 440,000 passengers a year and has the capability of receiving Boeing 747 and smaller airplanes. Aircraft maintenance there is carried out by Caribbean Dispatch Services. Mainly a hotbed for charter airlines, the airport is also the hub for the international airline LIAT, a fairly sized small airplane company that flies to many destinations around the Caribbean from this airport, and, domestically, to Saint Lucia's other airport. George F. L. Charles Airport is located in Castries, Saint Lucia and handles inter-Caribbean flights, as well as to Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
