heron road (ottawa)

Heron Road is a major road in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It runs from Walkley Road at an angle to the Rideau River, where it turns into Baseline Road. Heron is home to the Public Works Canada headquarters, Canada Post headquarters and CBC Ottawa at its junction with Riverside Drive. It's also home to St. Patrick's Intermediate High School and Herongate Mall. It also travels above Vincent Massey Park on the long viaduct over the Rideau River. Most of Heron Road is a four to six-lane divided principal arterial, and often becomes a speed trap; the speed limit is 60 km/h (35-40 mph) on most of the road despite the overall lack of pedestrians and relatively free flow (especially west of Bronson Avenue), most believe it should be 70 or 80 km/h (45-50 mph).
