Here, My Dear

Here, My Dear was an album by Marvin Gaye which is less famous for its musical content than for the rumors associated with it. According to the legend, Marvin owed his wife the royalties for his next album, so he intentionally recorded something uncommercial and unpleasant. According to Snopes.com, these rumors are false -- the album's poor success was due to Gaye and popular taste evolving in opposite directions, as opposed to any deliberate conspiracy.
