Henry Oldenburg

Henry Oldenburg (c.1618 - 1677) was a diplomat and natural philosopher. Born in Bremen, Germany, he settled in England during the interregnum. He was an early member of the Royal Society and served as its first Secretary. He was also founding editor of the Philosophical Transactions.
